A Glittering Beijing Night, Warmly Gathered

The 2025 British-Canadian Christmas Dinner Concludes Successfully

The 2025 British-Canadian Christmas Dinner, co-hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce in China and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, was warmly held in Beijing last Saturday, bringing together members, partners, and distinguished guests for an evening of festive celebration and meaningful connection.

The evening opened to the gentle sound of children singing Christmas carols, setting a joyful and welcoming tone. Guests were greeted with champagne and enjoyed lively conversation in a relaxed and festive atmosphere, marking a fitting close to the year.

In an atmosphere of seasonal warmth, Mr. Jonathan Bacon, Minister Counsellor for Economics, Trade Policy, and Net Zero at the British Embassy Beijing, and Mr. Maxim Berdichevsky, Counsellor and Head of Agriculture Trade at the Embassy of Canada to China, shared thoughtful reflections on the year past and extended their best wishes for 2026, offering optimism for the year ahead.

The celebration reached a joyful peak with the arrival of Father Christmas, whose surprise appearance, together with the lucky draw, was met with enthusiastic applause. Festive music accompanied the evening, from traditional Christmas carols to spirited live band performances, filling the venue with warmth and cheer.

The British Chamber of Commerce in China extends its sincere thanks to all guests for their participation, and expresses special appreciation to its valued members and partners—Bluestar AMG, RBC, Sun Life, Power Corporation of Canada, and Air Canada—for their continued support. We look forward to welcoming our community again in the year ahead and celebrating together in 2026.
