Chevening Health Research Forum 2025

Last Thursday, 27 November, the British Chamber of Commerce in China was delighted to co-host the inaugural Chevening Health Research Forum alongside the British Embassy and the University of Oxford. This landmark event represented an important step forward in strengthening academic exchange and deepening UK–China cooperation in health research and innovation.

Building on the momentum of the UK–China Health Dialogue held in May 2025 and the 11th UK–China Joint Commission for Science and Technology Meeting earlier this month, the Forum brought together leading experts from universities, think tanks, healthcare institutions and government bodies from both countries.

Supported by the UK Government, the China Network Health Team and the Chevening Programme, the Forum focused on two central aims:

  • Showcasing the latest research in health reform, including work developed through the Chevening Health Research Fellowship Programme

  • Strengthening bilateral research, policy and commercial collaboration to advance the wider objectives of the UK–China Health Dialogue

Looking ahead, the British Chamber of Commerce in China is proud that this Forum has established a strong foundation for sustained academic and professional exchange between the UK and China.

We extend our sincere thanks to all speakers, partners and participants for contributing to such an engaging and forward-looking discussion. We look forward to continuing our support for meaningful UK–China cooperation in the health sector.
