Pearson Supports the Skills Belt and Road International Talent Hub Programme

5th June 2019, Beijing    The Skills Belt and Road International Talent Hub Programme (Programme) Gearing Up Workshop was held at the British Ambassador’s Residence. Dame Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to China, Chen Feng, Director General of China Schooling Development Programme (CSDP), John Fallon, CEO of Pearson, together with UK Sectors Center of Excellence (UKSCE) and 80 guests from the Chinese government, vocational schools and institutions as well as the business sector participated in the workshop.

 

Witnessed by Dame Barbara Woodward, Pearson, CSDP and UKSCE signed the MOU on joint development of China’s Vocational Qualification System, with the aim of propelling the development the skills-focused education of China.

 

Pearson CEO John Fallon said “I’m impressed by the determination of the Chinese government in putting vocational and technical education at the core of its development focus. The favorable policies, ample funding, openness to best practices will surely lead to the success of the vocational education reform in China. I’m also very delighted to see that the China-UK vocational or skills-oriented cooperation is thriving and so many institutions and governments embracing the excellence of UK education, especially in the skills education and qualification area.  Pearson is fully committed to actively playing our part to sharing the best knowledge and experience with our Chinese counterparts”.
