The British Chamber Position Paper is a report created by all four British chambers of commerce in China to provide advocacy and representation on behalf of British businesses operating in China. In these unprecedented times, there is more need than ever for British businesses to be able to speak with a strong, unified voice.

Informed by advocacy consultations with British businesses across a range of sectors, the Chambers publish an annual Position Paper. Through roundtables and interviews with both well-established firms and SMEs, the Paper the collates the views of British business on the regulatory barriers that they face, areas of opportunity for bilateral cooperation and recommendations for market access reform into a single voice.

The Paper is directly presented to the UK and China governments in order to directly inform trade policy and negotiations. Members and contributors are regularly invited to directly engage with government officials on the topics raised in the Paper, in order to encourage further dialogue and enact meaningful change. Officials who have been presented with the Paper include Vice-Premier Hu Chunhua, Permanent Secretary Mark Sedwill, Ambassador Barbara Woodward, Madame Bao Ling and Trade Commissioner to China Richard Burn.
