Fourth Plenum signalled confidence and continuity ahead of Xi-Trump summit in Busan
Earlier this week, Acclime, together with British Chamber of Commerce in China (BritCham China), hosted an insightful session on the UK’s new tax regime — a specialised topic that attracted a highly engaged audience.
With the venue’s intimate capacity, we welcomed a small group of participants eager to explore how recent changes to the UK tax system affect individuals with UK ties, whether based in the UK or abroad.
Our speakers, Russell Brown OBE (Vice Chairman & Partner, Acclime) and Alastair McQuater (Partner, Corporate Tax, Buzzacott), delivered clear and engaging explanations of complex issues — from the new Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) regime to updates on Inheritance Tax (IHT) — making even the most technical topics accessible and relevant.
The networking session that followed inspired lively discussions, with attendees exchanging insights and posing thoughtful follow-up questions to our speakers.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this focused and informative evening, and to our speakers for sharing their expertise so generously.
