An Associate / Senior Associate supports multiple account teams. An understanding of North Head’s business and accounts as well as the general marketplace it sells to is expected. The ideal candidate perform fundamental tasks such as issue monitoring, in-depth research, drafting of reports, and assisting with production of media- or government-related materials. He / She manages client publications and resources materials, but also should be able to manage the client directly on small projects and day-to-day tasks. This position is focused on developing skills necessary to becoming a successful PR practitioner.
Primary Responsibilities
Client & Media-related tasks
- Manage client supplies, publications, and resources materials
- Prepare reports on client meetings and participate in client meetings and presentations
- Demonstrate knowledge of and familiarity with media pitching and tour scheduling
- Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news and competitor developments and draw conclusions based on coverage
- Draft media relations materials and assist in production of printed materials
- Contribute to program planning and account management by researching budgets, attending brainstorms, and managing purchase orders and external vendors, as directed by supervisor(s)
- Conduct media outreach and follow-up
Writing
- Draft pitch letters, invitations, abstracts, profiles, briefs, press kit materials, and releases
- Proof and edit client-related documents as needed
- Compose media plans and contribute to plan development processes as needed
Administrative Support
- Assist in monthly report preparation and manage monthly client billing processes
- Track and enter time with precision and on a day-to-day basis
- Cross-reference, approve, and forward invoices to the Accounting Department
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and above (overseas experience preferred) with majors in international relations, public relations, communication, journalism, Chinese, English, etc.
- 1-2 years of relevant full-time work experience in PR agencies (involved in healthcare-related clients is a plus)
- Strong interest in corporate communications
- Strong oral and written communication skills both in English and Chinese
- Ability to organize and present information in a well-structured and logical manner
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Internet research, and on-line services
