Job Overview

WildChina Education is looking for a dynamic Financial Controller to join our Beijing office. The ideal candidate should be passionate about hands-on learning, sustainability, and educational travel, and enjoy collaborating with educational institutions. Job Responsibilities

Role Scope & Strategic Partnership

  • Work closely with the Director of the business and the Group Head of Finance to make systems easier and more efficient, including refining current systems, researching new ones, and conducting proactive, forward-looking planning across international landscapes.
  • Advocate for the business from a finance perspective.
  • Critically assess how robust financial planning can facilitate business growth andmaintain high operational standards, implementing actionable ideas
  • Strategically consider financial resources, including investment, capital preservation, and generating compound returns.

Financial Analysis, Planning & Reporting

  • Analyze financial data to assess regional expenses and identify trends on a year-over- year basis
  • Produce ROI reports in coordination with department heads and maintain precise tracking of related data
  • Develop systems that provide the Director with clear visibility on EDU cash flow, proactively identifying and resolving issues

Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the Head of Operations on procurement strategies and analyses
  • Actively seek out cost-saving opportunities.
  • Gain proficiency in navigating multi-region accounting software and financial systems.
  • Continuously streamline finance procedures, simplifying processes over time. Governance, Accuracy & Compliance
  • Provide oversight and guidance to junior staff to minimize and eliminate accounting inaccuracies, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards
  • Ensure compliance while exercising sound judgment regarding tax matters— adhering to regulations without excessive caution or inefficiency.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of financial data, sharing information only when necessary.
  • Exhibit the courage to raise concerns or identify risks, regardless of the seniority of colleagues.

Communication, Judgment & Culture Fit

  • Cultivate strong and empathetic communication across all organizational levels to build trust and secure buy-in. Success in this role is dependent on maintaining credibility and positive relationships.
  • Maintain a humble and low-ego approach within a small team environment. While handling high-level financial analyses, you may also be required to manage essential tasks such as sourcing fapiao or elucidating reimbursement processes to external parties.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and pride in the quality of work produced

Requirements

–  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

–  Excellent written and verbal English and Chinese communication skills

–  Holds level 2 Accountant certificate, have minimum 5 years accounting experiences in a professional services or corporate environment, preferably in schools or educations industry

–  Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations

–  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights

–  Exceptional attention to detail is essential for accuracy and compliance

–  A high level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
