BRIEF DESCRIPTION

APCO Worldwide – a leading global communications and strategy consultancy – is seeking a Project Consultant in Beijing who will work under the supervision of a consultant. and interface with all levels of staff and clients with the following primary responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Support at least 3-4 projects across tasks from policy research, issue monitoring, stakeholder outreach facilitation to report and presentation development.
  • Compile research findings, prepare meeting minutes and draft client deliverables with the project teams under supervision from project managers.
  • Contribute actively to internal and client meetings by summarizing research findings and proposing creative ideas and suggestions.
  • Support senior managers to develop new business by conducting research and preparing credentials.
  • Maintain self-driven passion and curiosity to stay abreast of client issues and related industry trends, participate in industry networking events and inform team leaders of potential new business opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications And Standards

EDUCATION: University degree or higher, preferred in Journalism, Political Science, International Affairs, Economics or related fields.

Languages

  • Speaks Mother-tongue level fluency of English and has excellent English research, writing and editing skills.
  • Fluent spoken Chinese preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months’ internship or full-time work experience preferably in an industry association, think tank, government or diplomatic posting.

Core Skills

  • Familiarity and keen interest in topics relating to China’s political and economic development, strong knowledge of any of APCO’s focus sectors (such as technology, healthcare, retail and education industries) is a plus.
  • Strong research, communication, critical thinking and analytic skills.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate messages clearly and in a style appropriate to the target audience.
  • Good time management and a proactive learning attitude.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently, take initiative and set priorities.

Visa

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in China. APCO will provide the qualified candidate with visa support.
  • Preference is given to candidates already located in mainland China.
