The British Chamber of Commerce in China is a membership organisation with a focus on providing advocacy, business support and networking opportunities for British businesses in China. We operate as an independent, not-for-profit organisation with a strong and diverse membership, representing British companies across the country. With decades’ worth of business experience in China, we bring the British business community together and help them thrive in one of the world’s fastest growing markets.
As the voice of British business in China, BritCham China advocates on behalf of our members to both the British and Chinese governments in order to better direct trade relations. We foster dialogue between business and government in order to make our members’ voices heard on challenges in China’s business environment. We do this through our flagship annual publications, the British Business in China: Position Paper and the Business Sentiment Survey.

Policy Intern British Chamber Of Commerce in China Location: Beijing
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join a dynamic business organisation. The successful candidate will support on a variety of BritCham’s policy and advocacy work with the aim of influencing UK-China trade negotiations. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your own understanding of China’s policymaking and business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Policy Intern will support the team on our full range of advocacy and policy initiatives
They will be responsible for tracking major policy announcements relevant to British businesses in China
They will assist on BritCham’s annual advocacy publications, including planning, translation and analysis, in order to influence UK-China trade policy
They will support on policy events and webinars
They will have the opportunity to lead on short research projects
They will have the opportunity to assist with member engagement and business development
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. politics, economics, trade policy, international relations, business etc.). A postgraduate degree is desirable but not essential
Native level Chinese and advanced skills in English
Must be comfortable working within a small close-knit team
Strong time management skills
Experience working with WordPress desirable but not essential
Skills in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
