As our Events & Communications Intern, you will work on the marketing of all our events and activities, support our communications with members and the wider public, and contribute to our exciting and varied events calendar throughout the year. Event Support
Working with the Events Manager, the Intern will provide important support for planning, registrations and on-site delivery across all BritCham events during Autumn 2026, including:
- Contributing new and creative ideas for the Chamber’s events programme.
- Assisting with event management, from sector roundtables to high-profile community events and gala dinners.
- Assisting with business development, from engaging potential sponsors to supporting event partnerships.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement across members, attendees, vendors and partners.
Communications Support
Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Intern will support ongoing marketing campaigns during Autumn 2026, including:
- Growing the Chamber’s social media platforms through engaging and compelling content.
- Creating design assets for events and marketing, from backdrops and posters to infographics and quote cards.
- Developing your copywriting and design skills by creating engaging marketing campaigns for upcoming events.
- Supporting the British Chamber’s regular communications with members and the wider public, including WeChat, LinkedIn, newsletters, and XHS.

What do we expect from you?
- Fluent English — our primary marketing channels are English-language. Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese would be a strong advantage.
- Based in Beijing, with the ability to work in the office 3–5 days per week and start in September.
- A background in marketing, communications, events, business, languages, international relations, or another relevant field.
- A strong interest in and understanding of UK–China relations and British business culture.
- The ability to work well in a small team where staff are responsible for a wide variety of tasks and initiatives.
- A strong work ethic and plenty of creative ideas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Efficient and organised, with keen attention to detail.
- Basic IT skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Google Workspace.
- Graphic design skills (e.g. Canva or Photoshop) are an advantage.
- Photography and/or videography skills are an advantage.
