Exams Interpreter
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides interpretation between RSL examiners and candidates (Mandarin and English only);
- Travels across China mainland with the examiner and provides interpretation service (4 times a year; 2-4 weeks each time);
- Interpreters are free to choose the routes and cities they are going based on their preference.
Requirements
- Good command of English in listening, reading, writing and speaking. Fluent in Mandarin. Local accent must be minor.
- Degree in English language, linguistics or translation is preferred.
- For compliance considerations, music learning or playing experiences areNOT required.
- At least 2 years working experiences in English-Mandarin interpretation. Working experiences at Canton Fairs or similar events are preferred.
- Professionalism in working with foreign nationals; good communication and listening skills; friendly.
- Suitable for long-time business travels from health and family perspective.
- This is a free-lance natured work and the interpreter is flexible to select their preferences of travelling (March, July and August, September and December).
- RSL China Office is responsible for arranging the itinerary, transport and accommodation of the examiner and interpreter.
- No restrictions of residence but there is a preference of living in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong Province.
For compliance considerations, below people are not allowed to be hired as RSL exam interpreters:
- Practitioners in music and performing arts, or people who are going to work in the industry;
- Educators in music and performing arts;
- Friends, family members or acquaintance of the exam candidates or training schools / exam venues.
What you will be beneficial from this work:
- Standardised training will be provided once the applicants pass interview and sign contract;
- 1 off day is arranged every 6 working days;
- Meals and accommodations, transports and accidential insurance will be provided during the tour;
- double pay for weekends and triple pay for public holidays.
