Experience Host – Beijing

Our Beijing 咱们的北京

Our Beijing creates adventure-led experiences sharing the Beijing we live and love.

We ride bicycles and e-scooters through the city, explore hutongs and neighbourhoods, eat and drink at local spots, meet people along the way and share the culture, history and everyday life that make Beijing such an incredible place to call home.

We’re looking for Chinese Experience Hosts who are fluent in English and genuinely excited to share their life in Beijing with people from around the world.

You should enjoy riding, eating, drinking, exploring, learning and meeting new people.

What You’ll Do

As an Experience Host, you’ll:

* Lead guests around Beijing by bicycle and e-scooter
* Share local food, drinks, culture, history and everyday life
* Tell stories and share your own experiences and perspectives of Beijing
* Create a relaxed, social and memorable atmosphere
* Get to know your guests and adapt the experience to different personalities and interests
* Take ownership of the safety, timing and flow of each experience
* Handle unexpected situations confidently and independently
* Keep learning, exploring and finding new things to share
* Bring ideas and feedback that help us improve our experiences

We have routes, stops and experience structures that we know work.

But we don’t want every Experience Host to deliver exactly the same experience.

Your personality and perspective should be part of it.

Who We’re Looking For

You should be:

* Chinese
* Fluent in spoken English and comfortable having natural conversations with international guests
* Confident riding a bicycle and comfortable learning to use our e-scooters
* Passionate about sharing your life in Beijing
* Knowledgeable about local culture, history and everyday life
* An active learner who is always interested in discovering more
* Curious about Beijing’s food, drinks, neighbourhoods, traditions and people
* Social and confident meeting people from different backgrounds
* Responsible, reliable and safety-conscious
* Comfortable thinking independently and solving problems
* Proactive and willing to bring your own ideas

You don’t need to know everything about Beijing.

What matters is that you’re curious enough to keep learning about it.

Work With Us, Not Just For Us

We don’t want people who simply turn up, follow a route and go home.

We want people who work with us to make Our Beijing better.

Found an incredible new food stop? Tell us.

Think part of an experience could be better? Challenge it.

Guests keep asking about something we don’t currently offer? Let’s explore it.

Have an idea for a completely new experience? Bring it to the team.

We want people who think, suggest, experiment, challenge and take initiative.

As you learn from us, we expect to learn from you too.

What Makes Our Beijing Different

Our Beijing is ultimately a group of people who love sharing the city we live in and call home, each in our own way.

We share the same mission and direction, but we don’t want everyone on our team to be the same.

Every person brings different interests, experiences, knowledge, stories and perspectives.

One host might know the hutongs inside out. Another might be obsessed with Beijing food. Someone else might love the city’s history, architecture, nightlife or the strange little details of everyday life most people walk straight past.

We want those differences.

Our routes and experiences give us a foundation, but our people bring them to life.

That means two guests could join the same Our Beijing experience with two different hosts and both have an amazing experience, but not necessarily exactly the same one.

That’s intentional.

It’s what makes every experience personal, and it’s a huge part of what makes Our Beijing completely unique.

The Right Person

This role will suit someone who genuinely enjoys what our guests are coming to Beijing to experience.

Someone who likes jumping on a bike and exploring the city.

Someone who gets excited about discovering a tiny restaurant, learning the story behind an old neighbourhood or finding something they somehow never noticed before.

Someone who enjoys eating, drinking and talking with people from completely different backgrounds.

Someone who is proud to share China and Beijing, while also being curious enough to keep discovering it themselves.

Because ultimately, we’re not looking for someone to memorise our version of Beijing.

We’re looking for someone who can bring their version of Beijing into Our Beijing.

Compensation & Development

Everyone starts by spending time learning alongside our core team.

During this training period, we provide reimbursement for your time while you learn our experiences, routes, safety standards and approach to hosting.

From there, compensation increases as you become able to independently lead experiences and take on greater responsibility.

There is also room to grow beyond simply hosting experiences.

We want people who can become increasingly involved in improving experiences, developing new ideas, supporting the team and helping Our Beijing grow.

The more responsibility and value you bring to the team, the more opportunity there is to grow with us.

Interested?

Tell us a little about yourself, your life in Beijing, what you love about the city and why you think you’d be a good fit for Our Beijing.
