This role supports the management and execution of the College communications strategy and builds on the positive reputation and brand awareness of Dulwich College Beijing to further attract, convert, and retain families as well as promote the strengths, values, and culture of the College and drive external and internal community engagement, including alumni engagement.

Responsibilities

Whole College communications and content creation

• Create content strategy for DCB’s external and internal communications platforms
• Develop and manage communication contents for DCB
• Create and manage the editorial calendar for DCB owned media channels including WeChat, website, LinkedIn, College magazines and weekly newsletters
• Develop and curate engaging multi-media content based on the editorial calendar
• Develop advertorial content
• Publish across social / traditional media channels, collaborating with digital marketing manager who leads on technical expertise
• Support the crisis management by developing content including drawer statements and FAQs, and handling inquiries from English-speaking correspondents
• Develop frameworks and assets (eg. templates, guidelines, etc.) for teachers / school staff to contribute content to external and internal communication platforms on topics where they are the subject matter experts
• Develop templates and guidelines for administrative / logistic communications to support administrative staff / assistant teachers
• Serve as quality gate for whole College communications and notifications
• Work with the parent association on promotion and communication to strengthen the community

English-Speaking Media Relations

• Managing the relations with English-speaking correspondents and editors, and expanding the network
• Liaise with and provide information to the media and arrange interviews
• Write, compile and send monthly updates to local media
• Proactively search out information for PR purposes and writing press releases
• Collaborate with marketing where media buy is involved

Perform other related work as required

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of work experience in communications or journalism
  • Native English speaker with excellent communication skills, including high standards of written communication, knowledge of Mandarin and written Chinese would be a plus
  • A degree qualification, ideally in a related discipline
  • Ability to recognise communication opportunities
  • A drive to take ownership for projects and tasks, prioritising and scheduling own work to ensure deadlines are met
  • Commitment to high quality and attention to detail
  • A preference to work and achieve results as a team and a positive attitude about helping team members
  • Adaptability and openness to change
